Meet Harmit , the founder + creative director of The Bundles

An e-commerce based dried flower studio  The Bundles Studio

How did you come to find you have a passion for what you're doing?
I was studying accounting and it wasn’t providing the fulfillment I had desired.

It was this constant feeling of wanting more, and creating something special that was mine. I’ve always been a visual person and attracted towards colours, textures and all things pretty.

I initially came across dried flowers during the process of planning my pre-engagement event and I immediately fell in love with them.  This quickly became my creative outlet and I found myself feeling inspired for something more.  The sense of fulfillment I was craving – it came with these beautiful arrangements.  I absolutely love the beauty and functionality of the dried flowers.

How did you learn / was it a natural gift?
After finishing my Accounting degree, I took a huge leap and flew to London to attend London Flower School (LFS) in London, England.  Honestly, leaving accounting has probably been the biggest risk I’ve taken, having invested 4 years in schooling for accounting, but I’m so glad I did!  It hasn’t been easy but it’s been well worth it.

After returning home, I would practice making arrangements for hours and hours each day. I worked with a bunch of different styles and techniques. I quickly fell in love with the minimalist and neutral aesthetic of dried flowers.  I feel like you’ll see this resonate through my work and arrangements.

How did you get started / what were the first steps you took to start your business?
I started doing tons of research on dried flowers, suppliers and what it takes to start a business in BC. I was so excited to start a dried flower studio as I saw there was a huge opportunity for everlasting arrangements.

What has been the most exciting part of having your own business so far?
Oh, so many things!  But I would say being able to personally grow and watching the company grow from day one. I have learned a lot about myself during the journey.  Doing things, I thought I could never do and being confident in myself and making decisions.

And the love and support we receive from our clients and this is what keeps us going every single day.

Advice you’d give yourself when you first started

I would tell myself to not overthink and to just do it (cheeky Nike reference).  Keep everything as simple as possible and that persistence pays off.

Hope you enjoyed meeting Harmit + The Bundles Studio. Don’t forget to check out her beautiful online dried floral shop, The Bundles Studio.
